My coaching philosophy is human-centric and solutions-focused, recognising that we all have intrinsic barriers that make it harder to reach our goals but that processes and clear steps can help us be more pragmatic.
Whilst I have managed to grow recognition in a high-powered business role, I have faced many challenges. I have suffered burnout, dealt with toxic people, recovered from an eating disorder that controlled my life, and learned to manage depression, anxiety, neurodiversity, and a chronic autoimmune condition.
Going through many experiences myself has helped me to gain insight that can help other founders and women in the workplace.
Overcoming these challenges has been a fantastic learning opportunity that gives me the experience to help others to overcome their challenges, reach their goals and live a happy thriving life.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time doing gymnastics and I love performing and competing.
I am a certified coach and experienced mentor, having mentored for the LIF global innovators programme and for investors who are looking for support for their founders. As a founder of Exponential Changemakers, I regularly coach and mentor the women in our community.
I am perpetually curious about how we become effective leaders in a world that needs its organisations to make a positive impact whilst creating inclusive cultures.
My academic area of study is organisational talent and I combine my research knowledge with the real-life experience I get through: running Exponential Changemakers; first-hand knowledge of the challenges of entrepreneurship that I get working with founders and interviewing them for MindStyling for Entrepreneurs; and the insights I gain when judging high-profile awards and funding bids. I am personally very passionate about creating inclusive cultures, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities with regard to inequities in gender, neurodiversity, and disability in the workplace, all of which I have first-hand experience dealing with.
I am an award-winning entrepreneur, speaker, and gymnast. I was a CEO for seven years and now I am co-founder of a new venture. I have worked with several companies in a board-level role. I have worked in business impact in the high-growth, high-tech sectors covering digital creative, scientific, and education businesses.
I was named a Maserati 100 innovator by the Sunday Times and won an Innovate UK women in innovation award. I have been recognised as a digital change-maker by London Tech Week and was recognised as South West business owner of the month by the South West business insider. I have extensive experience speaking at many global events and I can bring my unique perspective and experiences to different audiences authentically and engagingly.
In addition to my business experiences, I am also a trained actor and gymnast which means you can trust me to bring my story to your audience with the energy of a performer. I am available for speaking engagements covering a wide range of topics. From innovation and leadership to inclusive cultures and even gymnastics! There is plenty of information on this website about who I am and the subjects I can cover so take a look around to see if I am a good fit for your event.
Before you can book me to speak at your event I would like to talk to you to discuss your requirements and budgets so I can tailor my presentation to your audience. If you are interested in finding out more about booking me to speak at your event please contact me via Linked In or Instagram.
My journey into entrepreneurship wasn’t planned, it was the product of timing, opportunity, and a passion to make a change.
When I completed my Ph.D. in 2008 I began working in the innovation team at the Regional Development Agency. This was the first time that I had been exposed to innovative, start-up businesses and I was captivated by the capability of small teams to create something from nothing and make a change in the world. Before too long I was ready to roll my sleeves up and jump into some start-up companies, taking on any number of roles, driven by a desire to create value for users and build something that was bigger than any one person.
In some ways a CEO role was inevitable and that happened in 2014 when I joined the fledgling Interactive Scientific team. Seven years later I, with my fellow directors, negotiated an M&A deal, having brought in millions of pounds and generated users all over the world. Both the company and I won numerous awards, including the accolades of “Maserati 100 Innovator” by the Sunday Times and one of “50 Movers and Shakers in Biotech”.
I have been featured in numerous broadsheet publications and you may have even spotted me on billboards on the tube or in airports as the face of Oracle’s Your Tomorrow Today campaign.
Of course, none of this has been easy and I have led the company through many challenges. This has given me a wealth of experience, which I have since used to help me help other founders and Changemakers.
As I reflect, on my starting point in Entrepreneurship there is one thread that keeps showing up – making an impact. I have carried this into my podcast Mindstyling for Entrepreneurs and my new venture: Exponential Changemakers.
I have a portfolio of businesses and founders that I support as they navigate the entrepreneurial journey. From helping businesses to garner investment; to helping build inclusive cultures and being the founder’s critical friend; I have done it all. If you would like to bring my expertise and experience to your leadership team please reach out to me via linked in or Instagram.
